Rev. Larry Schlomer (Keynote Speaker)

Larry M. grew up in Medellín, Colombia where his father, Larry W. Schlomer, served as a missionary. His vicar year was spent in Puerto Rico and he served nine years in the Dominican Republic right out of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. Larry then served in Houston, TX, helping grow an inner-city congregation by reaching out to the Hispanics in the neighborhood and launching a second site in Sienna Plantation. In 2011, he was called to serve as the chairman for the Board for World Missions and in the summer of 2013 he began his full-time service as the Administrator for World Missions.  Larry and his wife Katie have six children – five boys and one girl. Katie teaches at St. Matthew’s Lutheran School in Oconomowoc, WI.
